Chamber’s technical assistance helps Manny Burgos increase his company’s bottom line
What does your business do? When and Why did you join the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce?
Manuel Burgos is Director of Marketing at LRS Communications, Inc., which specializes in wireless technology and communications for businesses in the NYC metropolitan area. “We work with anyone who uses wireless communications and two-way radio technology. Our clients include museums, churches, small businesses and larger ones like IKEA, the New York City Department of Sanitation and the New York City Department of Education.
We re-joined the Chamber in December 2003 to find new ways to market our business.”
How has your Brooklyn Chamber membership assisted your business?
“Our business has benefited from the Chamber’s networking events, such as the Business After Hours, that put us in touch with other businesses in Brooklyn and help us to promote our company. Through Good Help, we brought on eight interns from the Good Shepherd program during the summer of 2006, which had a direct impact on the business including an increase in sales. One intern will join our staff in the fall in our sales department. Also, the Chamber has provided us with technical assistance, particularly in the area of government procurement, that resulted in our winning several substantial government contracts adding directly to our company’s bottom line.”
