Chamber networking immediately paid dividends for this new graphic design business
What does your business do? When and Why did you join the Brooklyn Chamber?
Dave Wallace and Dailey Crafton are co-owners of Live From Bklyn, a lean, nimble visual communications company based in Williamsburg: “We specialize in using good design to communicate good ideas effectively via printed and digital media. We have created for our clients everything from brands, advertisements, product packaging and promotional materials to websites and e-books. Our clients include L'Oreal USA, Willoughby Partners, LLC, North Brooklyn Public Art Coalition, Town Square, Inc., Static-Labs, LLC, and Williamsburg Church.
We learned about the Chamber through other business owners and decided to join in February 2009, shortly after we went full-time. As a new business, we wanted to interact with other entrepreneurs to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible.”
How has your Brooklyn Chamber membership assisted your business?
“The Chamber has a lot of helpful resources to help Members grow their business, including networking events. The first Chamber event we attended shortly after joining was a Business After Hours at IKEA in Red Hook. We met the manager of Brooklyn Heights’ NU Hotel who needed some design work. Long story short, we finished the project for this Chamber Member within a few weeks, so our membership started paying dividends immediately. We also are proud to call the Chamber a client – we responded to an RFP and won the bid to design their 2008 annual report.”
