Annual Membership Meeting

The Annual Membership Meeting is one of the most popular networking events of the year, bringing together a cross section of members. The event is an excellent networking opportunity and a chance to connect with friends and colleagues, both old and new. Each year the Annual Meeting features a distinguished Keynote Speaker such as President and CEO of Empire State Development Corporation Kenneth Adams, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. In 2013, the Annual Meeting was held at Garguilos in Coney Island.

Winter Gala

The Winter Gala is the Chamber of Commerce's annual end-of-the-year bash usually held at El Caribe Country Club in Mill Basin. The event kicks off with a fantastic cocktail reception followed by an awards presentation honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the economic development of Brooklyn and to the growth of businesses in our borough. The Brooklyn Chamber welcomes nominations from its members.

Black History Month Celebration

In February, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and its Minority and Women Business Owners (MWBO) Committee, present its annual Black History Month Celebration. Every year at this networking and cocktail reception, the Chamber honors African Americans who have made significant contributions to their community, the borough or the city.

Chamber Visits

While all Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce events provide members the opportunity to network, the bimonthly Chamber Visits is specifically designed to provide an ongoing forum for members to mix, meet and make meaningful connections with other members and associates in fun and entertaining settings after work. Chamber Visits are held monthly at various locations across the borough to highlight the different Brooklyn communities. These events attract between 100 and 250 attendees and are free to Brooklyn Chamber Members.

Made In Brooklyn

"The 'Made in Brooklyn' awards allows us to highlight and celebrate the best of what Brooklyn has to offer. The Chamber honors makers from three sectors: food and beverage, design and technology and innovation. A fourth category is set aside for a maker in one of the three aforementioned categories that is a MWBE-owned business. Businesses can also nominate themselves for awards.

An independent jury will decide the winners of each category who will be awarded at the Annual Meeting and Trade Show in October.

Business Seminars

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce presents a wide variety of themed Business Seminars where 25 to 100 members and other business professionals get the opportunity to hear about issues important to them. These seminars help business professionals better understand how to attract more customers, reduce operating costs, increase productivity, and maintain contact with colleagues in the Brooklyn business community. Business seminars are free to Brooklyn Chamber Members.

The Brooklyn Chamber's Small Business Seminar Committee (SBSC) and NYC Business Solutions, Brooklyn Center (BSC) produce business seminars that are responsive to the general interests and needs of small business owners and professionals. Other Chamber departments and committees, including the Chamber's Real Estate & Development (RED) Committee, periodically present business seminars specific to businesses within particular industry sectors.
