Keisha Jerryman finds the supports she needs for her small business at the Chamber
What does your business do? When and Why did you join the Brooklyn Chamber?
We are a four-year-old non-medical service provider based in Bedford-Stuyvesant. We take a family-oriented approach to serving the needs of NYC seniors and their families and are committed to helping our older adult clients manage those physically challenging daily tasks of living so that they can live independently at home. We provide housekeeping, laundry, shopping, escort assistance, errands, and more. We also provide cleaning services for homeowners and businesses.
I learned about the Chamber through BEBWA, an affiliate partner of the Chamber. I joined in August 2004 to meet business owners, to take advantage of the educational seminars and other business assistance resources at the Chamber.
How has your Brooklyn Chamber membership assisted your business?
Through my Chamber relationship I found some of my business services. I signed on with Mutual Washington through Michael Fina my business checking account and receive computer maintenance services from Aron Joseph of Linktech Systems, Inc. I’ve also connected with Chamber Members as clients such as LDC of East New York. LDCENY then referred me to another Member, Legion Lighting that also became a client. Brooklyn Business Solutions provided me with business plan assistance and the Chamber’s Brooklyn Connects program is helping me to get M/WBE certification as a first step in preparing to compete for government contracts. The Chamber’s business assistance services and networking events and the support from Chamber staff have been invaluable to me personally and to my business.
