Chamber OJT Funding Renewed back to Recent News home
August 22, 2007
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce's contract with the New York State Department of Labor to provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to its Members has been renewed. Through this initiative, Member businesses interested in hiring persons in need of OJT may be eligible to contract with the Brooklyn Chamber for a partial reimbursement of employee wages for training.

By connecting employers to a diverse labor pool and providing individualized training on-the-job, a company can meet skill shortages and build a trained workforce to serve their present and future business needs.

Training must be provided on-site in order for a business to be eligible. Terms for each individual training slot will be defined and negotiated with Chamber staff, which will also offer assistance in developing a training plan.

Brooklyn Chamber Member businesses interested in the Chamber’s On-the-Job Training program should contact Jeanette G. Nigro, vice president of workforce and training, at 718-875-1000 ext. 114, or at jnigro@brooklynchamber.com
