Chamber Research
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, as part of its overall economic development strategy, conducts in-depth research on the borough's economy and its labor market through its workforce development department. Such information helps to guide policymakers and local leaders in decisions that can affect the long-term growth and development of Brooklyn.

Chamber Member Issues Surveys
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, under the direction of its Government Affairs Committee, conducts annual surveys of its membership in an effort to identify issues that affect the business climate in the borough. In addition, the data from these surveys helps to inform the Chamber's advocacy agenda, subject to the review and approval of the Chamber's Board of Directors. For example, in both 2003 and 2004, Chamber Members expressed concern over several insurance related issues including the rising costs of liability and health insurance and workers' compensation rates.
The Chamber's surveys are also used to determine the level of support amongst its membership for specific economic development initiatives around the city. Past projects the Chamber has polled its Members on include the Atlantic Yards Project, Greenpoint/Williamsburg rezoning, the 2012 Olympic Bid, the Hudson Yards Project and other major development and zoning intitiatives.
