The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and its Government Affairs Committee meet with federal legislators in Washington, D.C. every year during its annual lobbying trip.
Under the direction of its Government Affairs Committee, the Brooklyn Chamber conducts an annual survey of its membership to help identify and prioritize the organization’s “Agenda for Growth.” The Agenda for Growth lays out issues to help make Brooklyn an even greater place to do business, work and live. Each year the document is updated, looking at government issues that affect businesses in Brooklyn.
In 2009, the Brooklyn Chamber delegation joined with other chambers from across the state on May 12 and 13 for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Summit and the Chamber Alliance of New York State’s “New York Day in Washington,” a special opportunity to meet with Washington representatives to discuss the needs of New York State businesses and the New York State economy.
