OTHER TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Through the Brooklyn Chamber’s Workforce Development Department and the Brooklyn Business Solutions Center, you can access a number of resources for training grants for groups of employees, or individual employees.
On-the-Job Training The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce it has received funding from the New York State Department of Labor to provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities to its Members. Through this initiative, Member businesses interested in hiring persons in need of OJT may be eligible to contract with the Brooklyn Chamber for a partial reimbursement of employee wages for training. Training must be provided on-site in order for a business to be eligible. Terms for each individual training slot will be defined and negotiated with Chamber staff, which will also offer assistance in developing a training plan.
Individual Employee Training If you are a small business and have one or two employees with training needs, there are programs available through the NYC Department of Small Business Services and the WorkForce1 Career Centers.
