Brooklyn Eats™ is the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s highly anticipated annual happening: the best single night of eating in the borough. The event supports Brooklyn’s food service industry by highlighting the culinary diversity and creativity that makes Brooklyn an important dining destination in New York City. Select restaurateurs, caterers, gourmet groceries, micro-brews, and wines are all represented.
In 2002, the Brooklyn Chamber broadened the event by adding the annual presentation of the Brooklyn Eats™ Scholarship Awards to students of New York City College of Technology, CUNY: Hospitality Management Department. The 10th anniversary edition of this popular "foodie fest" was held, as had become tradition, at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge in 2006.
After a yearlong hiatus, Brooklyn Eats™ returned on April 30, 2008, at a new location – Abigail Kirsch at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios – and a new twist. Restaurants were presented within the context of their local arts and cultural venues. > read more
