| | The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and its Government Affairs Committee present Goverment Forums and the annual Economic Development Summit. These forums, in addition to the Chamber's major annual lobbying trips to Albany and Washington, D.C., give Members the opportunity to meet with, network with, and hear from leaders in government, including past speakers such as U.S. Senators Chuck E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton (2003); U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner and NYS Assemblyman Vito J. Lopez, Brooklyn's Democratic County Leader (2006); Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, chair of the U.S. House Small Business Committee and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg (2007).
In 2008, the Chamber hosted its Economic Outlook Breakfast with Sovereign Bank where Deputy Mayor of Economic Development and Rebuilding Robert C. Leiber was the keynote.
The Chamber again partnered with Sovereign Bank in 2009 to host the Economic Outlook Breakfast featuring Christopher O. Ward of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (pictured above) as the keynote speaker.
