What does your business do? When and Why did you join the Brooklyn Chamber?

Halcrow (formerly CommunityCartography) provides detailed information about anything that can be put on a map – names; the locations of businesses, residences, or public facilities; the number of riders on a subway line; the number of school age children in a census tract; zoning, land use, parks/open space; business improvement districts, local development corporations, economic development zones; property information, and much more.  We make printed, poster-size maps for developers (for instance, Chamber Member Forest City Ratner) and nonprofits (such as the Fort Greene Information Exchange).  We make Web applications that provide interactive mapping and data-querying.  And, we supply stand-alone software applications loaded with digital data from our warehouse, which offers  the region’s richest supply of geographic information.

We joined the Chamber in 2000 when we had the opportunity to work with them to inaugurate ibrooklyn.com, for which we provided the interactive maps for the first version of the “Brooklyn Eats” page.
