What does your business do? When and Why did you join the Brooklyn Chamber?
GRD Contracting Inc. specializes in quality residential and commercial interior alterations. We joined the Chamber in the fall of 2001. We wanted to meet other small business owners and local government leaders.

How did the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce help your business?
At the first Business After Hours (BAH) networking event I attended, I met Susan Doban, an architect and active Member of the Chamber. A few weeks later she called me to see if we were interested in an 8000-square-foot office build out and warehouse construction job. We were, and we did it, and we have another happy client who has called us back to do more work. We have since done other projects that Susan has designed including SUGARCANE, a new Caribbean restaurant and Chamber Member on Flatbush Avenue in Park Slope. I also met Jim Cosares of JimCo Associates at that same BAH. He is now providing my business with health insurance that is significantly cheaper.
