The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the honorees for its 88th Annual Dinner Dance: Nydia Velázquez, U.S. House of Representatives, will receive the Leadership in Public Service Award. As the Ranking Democratic Member of the House Small Business Committee, she has been a vocal advocate for small business and entrepreneurship. She is being recognized for her responsiveness to the needs of small businesses, helping them to grow and thrive.
Stephen K. Hindy, President of the Brooklyn Brewery, will receive the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mr. Hindy has integrated success in business with service to the Brooklyn community. He will be recognized for his success in advancing the business goals of the Brooklyn Brewery and his commitment to civic involvement that has helped to make the name “Brooklyn” a presence in New York and beyond.
Philip F. Stenger, Commerce Bank will receive the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award. Mr. Stenger’s work at Commerce Bank supports the social, cultural and economic vitality of Brooklyn. As a well-respected professional in the banking industry, he will be recognized for his many efforts over the years in partnering with civic, cultural and community organizations across Brooklyn to enrich the quality of life for all Brooklynites.
