Brooklyn's Progress October/November 2007
BY JILL D'AMICO
On Thursday, Sept. 6, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s Real Estate and Development program hosted RED Nite, a semi-annual networking event for real estate professionals, including owners, landlords, developers, architects, engineers, builders, and construction suppliers.
This most recent installment drew attendees to the M&T Bank building, located at 91 Pennsylvania Ave. in East New York. The big news was the work going on above the bank – developer and entrepreneur Jonas Rudofsky is converting the top floors of the stately structure into office space, as well as land in an adjacent lot.
His latest venture, Atlantic 2644 LLC, will develop much-needed office space for the neighborhood.
Mr. Rudofsky is the founder of Mighty Map, a powerful suite of on-line based map tools created to meet the information needs of real estate professionals in New York City.
The development will “add to the number of jobs and job space” in the neighborhood, said Chris Havens, RED Committee co-chair and Chief Executive of CRS Commercial Real Estate.
Mighty Map and Atlantic 2644 LLC sponsored the event, which was hosted by M&T Bank.
