Brooklyn's Progress October/November 2007

Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Branch celebrated the opening of the Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Center for Contemporary Culture – familiarly known as “The Dweck” – with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 26, ahead of its opening weekend. The center is part of a $16 million renovation effort that also restored the library’s outdoor plaza, which opens out onto Grand Army Plaza.
Situated beneath the plaza, the Dweck Center features a 200-seat auditorium, gallery and meeting space, where the library plans to host talks, films, performances and art installations. |
