Brooklyn's Progress January 2005
Delegates from the China Beverage Industry Association and China-based beverage companies recently met with 4C Foods Corp. and Brooklyn Goes Global (BGG) in an effort to exchange ideas and explore opportunities. The Chinese delegation included Shen Mei, Shanghai Beverage and Food Co., Ltd.; Rize Fengcheng, Beijing Trade Co., Ltd.; Huayu Feiling, Suzhou Packaging Machinery Co. and representatives from various other cities and provinces throughout China.
The delegation was interested in exchanging product information and in discussing opportunities for marketing and perhaps joint manufacturing of products between 4C and other select companies. Although no specific agreements were made, the meeting was so informative and successful that two weeks later, another meeting between 4C Foods Corp. and China's Coconut Palm Group was held to discuss other possible ventures. Coconut Palm Group is the largest canned fruit juice manufacturer in China.
President John Celauro, Vice President Nat Celauro and Dan Swartz, Vice President of International Sales at 4C, gave an in-depth overview of the company and their vast array of products, namely ice tea mixes, bread crumbs, grated cheeses, soup mixes/dips and their newest line of cappuccino mixes.
4C Foods Corp. is an active participant in the Brooklyn Chamber's Brooklyn Goes Global program and was part of the delegation of Brooklyn companies that went to the Dominican Republic in October. They have also participated in Kosherfest and the All Asia Food Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center under the Brooklyn Goes Global banner.
For over 70 years, 4C Foods Corp. has been a privately owned and operated company employing over 175 employees and inhabiting more than 210,000 square feet of space in their state-of-the-art Brooklyn location. While 4C's seeks to further its opportunities overseas by focusing on China, the company currently exports to various international chains as well as food wholesalers in Mexico, Japan, Brazil, Colombia, Russia, and Middle Eastern countries as well as China and beyond. According to Mr. Swartz, “Exporting is a priority for us and we are delighted to have the opportunity to meet with the Chinese delegations.”
