Brooklyn's Progress December 2000
Brooklyn Chamber Member Joe Stiles was recently presented with an award by the New York Community Hospital for his dedication to the hospital. A member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees, Stiles has been involved with the hospital for more than 21 years. He serves on the fundraising and quality improvement committees, as well as the hospital’s advisory board. In recognition of his leadership, he has received the 2000 Distinguished Trustee Award. “We are very pleased to honor him for his work at New York Community Hospital and his many other voluntary activities,” George Weinberger, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, said. Stiles contributions extend well beyond the Brooklyn Chamber and New York Community Hospital. His activities include: the Brooklyn Hemophiliac Guild, the Borough President’s Advisory Committee on the Disabled, the Marine Park Civic Association, the 63rd Precinct Community Council, the Holy Name Societies of the Brooklyn Archdiocese and the Columbia Association. Born in Brooklyn, Stiles still lives here with his wife of 59 years, Mary.
