Brooklyn's Progress December 2002
The name Matt Steffanie might not ring a bell, but perhaps Uncle Matt does! Mr. Steffanie is not only the proud uncle of 16 nieces and nephews, but the father of Uncle Matt’s Brooklyn Merchandise, Inc. – a company that offers a wide selection of unique gifts, note cards and other cool collectibles including mugs, deluxe mouse-pads, cotton throws and more – all emblazoned with classic, vintage and contemporary landmark photographs which fully captures and showcases Brooklyn’s rich and varied cultural past and present.
Featured in the November 11-17, 2002 issue of Crain’s, he is one of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s usual suspects at the monthly Business After Hours. And at October’s successful event, at the New York Aquarium, someone walked out with his coat! As it turns out, a coat that looked similar to his remains at the Aquarium. Checked your pockets lately? Perhaps another Chamber Member just got home, and hung up their coat – not noticing that the coat belonged to Uncle Matt.
The missing coat is dark olive, has a brown leathery collar, button front and waist belt, is lined with dark flannel, and the right hand pocket contains the flyer for the event. If you have the coat, don’t be shy, and give Uncle Matt a call! And while you are at it, visit him online, at http://www.unclemattsbrooklyn.com/.
