Brooklyn's Progress December 2004
Story by Khadija Batuta
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Tara Levin joined the organization as Manager of Member Services on Nov. 15. As part of the Chamber’s Membership team along with Director Darryl Hollon and Special Events Manager Maggie Lucien, Tara will be responsible for managing all Member information and data and premium benefits.
Tara initially came to the Chamber in late June as a consultant for Brooklyn HealthWorks. Soon thereafter, she seized the opportunity to work with the Membership Department on the 2004-2005 Brooklyn Business Directory & Buying Guide. Motivated and excited by working directly with the Members, Tara soon gained the confidence of the rest of the staff.
From her first day in her new position at the Chamber, Tara hit the ground running assisting Members and providing support to the Membership team, including at Chamber events. Some of you may have already met Tara over the phone or at recent Chamber events like the Business After Hours at Lundy’s Bros. Restaurant or the Executive Business Forum at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge.
Tara graduated summa cum laude from San Francisco State University with a degree in Communications. After graduating she spent a number of years working in emergency medicine both in the field as a paramedic and in the emergency room as an emergency services coordinator.
“My roots are in New York where I’ve replanted myself from San Francisco, California,” said Tara. “It is a great pleasure for me to be working directly with both Members and staff here at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. It’s my intention to maximize my creativity, education and work experience in my role assisting Chamber Members as part of the Membership team. I am looking forward to getting to know our Members, while increasing our membership base and services in the new year.”
You may reach Tara with your Member benefits questions at 718-875-1000 ext. 111, or at tlevin@brooklynchamber.com.
In other Membership news, Geraldine Chery-Bradley, joined the department on Oct. 5 as a Special Events Intern supporting Manager Maggie Lucien. Geraldine is an undergraduate student at Long Island University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. |
