On Dec. 7, Brooklyn HealthWorks presented a Business Insurance Seminar sponsored by Health Plus and Atlantis Health Plan.  The Insurance Seminar was directed to the manufacturing businesses in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This seminar featured a panel of experts and brokers who addressed questions and concerns ranging from affordable health insurance, property and causality insurance and workers’ compensation costs and many more issues affecting businesses in the Navy Yard.

Evan Hughes, owner of Evan Hughes Furniture, located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, said as he was leaving the seminar, “We couldn’t get as much information in an hour and half anywhere else.”

The panel of speakers for the Insurance Seminar included:  Joseph Losfredo, Fleet Insurance Services; Norman Banguard, New York State Fund; Walter B. Taylor, The Hamilton Wharton Group; Jim Cosares, JIMCO Association Inc.; Steve Denes, Atlantis Health Plan; Joseph Cohen, J.C. Cohen, Insurance and Investment Services; Robert Hayley, Robert Haley & Co.; Denise Horseford, Met Life Financial Services; Richard Allen,  American Corporate Benefits; Ronald Rabenswaay, John Hancock Life Insurance Co.; and Hector Ramos, AIG.
