Independence Community Bank CEO Alan Fishman and his staff was joined by U.S. Representative Nydia Velazquez, Borough President Marty Markowitz and Assemblywoman Joan Millman, among many others, to celebrate the grand opening of the Brooklyn-based bank’s 73rd branch on January 16th The new full-service branch is in the DUMBO neighborhood on the Downtown Brooklyn waterfront. It is the first and only bank to serve the commercial, residential and manufacturing community. More than 200 neighbors and well-wishers helped greet the new bankers. Here, in the ATM lobby of the bank are, from left: Barrett Stokes, Branch Manager; Laura Capra, Regional Vice President; ICB President and Brooklyn Chamber Chairman Alan Fishman; Janice Schillig, Senior VP for Marketing; Congresswoman Velazquez; Terence Mitchell, Consumer Banking Division President;  Michael Raimonde, Senior Vice President; and Giuseppe Lentini, Assistant Branch Manager. With branch hours from 8am to 6pm weekdays and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays, plus two 24-hour ATM machines at the site, the new DUMBO branch will provide convenient service to both residents and businesses. J.P.Morgan Chase Vice-Presidents Paul D. Piergentile and Frank Bilello, '71 graduate of Brooklyn College, present Brooklyn College President Dr. Christoph M. Kimmich with an award honoring Brooklyn College for its Princeton Review rankings.  In the recent Princeton Review Guide to Colleges, Brooklyn College ranked number one for most beautiful campus in the U.S., fifth both for "best academic bang for your buck," and for having a positive interaction among students of different backgrounds.  The College also came in ninth for "best college town."  This is the first time that Princeton Review has given Brooklyn College significant high rankings in its guide.
