Brooklyn's Progress February/March 2008
BY JILL D’AMICO
Over two days in March, Members of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce will make their annual Albany trip to present the Chamber’s 2008 Agenda for Growth to state legislators.
The agenda, which is formulated with results from the Chamber’s annual Member Issues Survey, will bring a pro-business stance to meetings with state leaders. Leading the charge will be some of the biggest issues facing businesses: rising energy/fuel costs, the cost of health and liability insurance, and traffic/transportation problems.
Brooklyn Chamber President Carl Hum, along with Government Affairs Committee co-chairs Brad Korn of Continuum Health Partners and Eric Huebscher of the I Doctor, are deep in planning stages for the Chamber's 2008 Albany Lobbying Trip.
“The Chamber is taking a hard stance on the issues that are of paramount importance to its 1,500 Members,” said Mr. Hum. “The impact of this trip shapes Brooklyn’s business community as a force to be reckoned with and allows our voice to be heard. I look forward to an ultimately productive and rewarding experience.” |
