Brooklyn's Progress February/March 2008
BY JILL D’AMICO
This issue of Brooklyn’s Progress is aimed at gauging the economic outlook for Brooklyn in 2008. You will still find all the networking, small-business seminars and event news you see in each issue of the Progress, but the focus is on stories like our Economic Forecast cover article, where Sovereign reports the results of their 2008 Economic Outlook survey, which was issued to consumers and the business community alike. Inside, you will find columns penned by contributors that talk about the importance of workforce development and what recourse there is for those affected by the sub-prime crisis. There are predictions and stories from business leaders who candidly speak about their expectations for the new year, as well as the promise of help for retail strips throughout the borough as the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s revived Brooklyn Shops program gets underway with a bang.
