Brooklyn's Progress February/March 2008
BY JILL D’AMICO
The chance to mix and mingle at Brooklyn’s own army base brought out Brooklyn Chamber Members in droves to November’s Business After Hours networking event.
The historic base, located in the southwestern corner of Brooklyn, was built in 1825 and the first garrison flag was first raised in 1831.
Members gathered at the Fort Hamilton Community Club, which is a landmarked building that includes the Harbor Defense Museum. In addition to door prizes, a buffet, and cocktails, the evening also featured a trade show. Exhibitors included Atlantis Health Plan, Penn Mutual, CCP Solutions, Webline Designs, Family Care Certified Services, New York Life, Axel Protections Systems, United Mortgage Banker LTD, Fort Hamilton, Sovereign Bank, and Answer One.
