Brooklyn's Progress April/May 2005
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that thanks to the generous support of Atlantis Health Plan, Brooklyn’s Progress will be distributed to the entire Brooklyn business community.
Beginning with the June/July issue, Brooklyn’s Progress will extend its reach across the borough, getting into the hands of most of Brooklyn’s small businesses. Currently, 8,000 copies of Brooklyn’s Progress are published and distributed by mail and at Chamber and other community events. The support of Atlantis Health Plan will allow the paper to be distributed to 20,000 small businesses in the borough.
“Atlantis is proud to be a part of this win-win situation. We see the Chamber as a great business partner and one of the strongest brands in Brooklyn. This partnership also enables us to strengthen Atlantis’ presence in Brooklyn, where many of our members live,” said Tom Dwyer, Chief Operating Officer, Atlantis Health Plan. Atlantis Health Plan, Inc., is a physician-owned health plan serving the five boroughs of New York City. With a network of over 15,000 physician locations, Atlantis’ mission is to re-establish the partnership between the patient and the doctor.
“We appreciate Atlantis Health Plan’s commitment to the Brooklyn business community. Their support will enable us to broaden the reach of the Brooklyn Chamber through our communications vehicle, Brooklyn’s Progress,” said Kenneth Adams, President, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. “We’re excited about this new venture which builds on the relationship that we already have with Courier-Life Publications. The combined commitment of Courier-Life and Atlantis Health Plan will make Brooklyn’s Progress a better paper to serve the needs of our Members.”
Brooklyn’s Progress is published by Courier-Life Publications. It is the only business publication produced by the newspaper chain.
“We are excited about the partnership with Atlantis Health Plan and the Brooklyn Chamber and a vehicle to reach the entire small business community in Brooklyn,m Courier-Life” said Dan Holt, Co-publisher, Courier-Life Publications.
As part of the Brooklyn Chamber’s renewed focus on helping its Members connect to the promotion, support and advocacy services of the Chamber, the organization has turned its attention to its business newspaper. Other changes recently implemented for the Progress include using different paper stock for the Progress cover and inside pages to better present the color information (January issue), and moving the Progress to a bimonthly publication schedule (six times per year) as of the February/March issue.
