Brooklyn's Progress
April/May 2005

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping businesses get connected. The Chamber’s Membership Department provides the following tips to help businesses maximize their Chamber memberships:

  • Attend the monthly Business After Hours (BAH) networking events and meet business owners from across Brooklyn and beyond.
  • Participate in a Brooklyn Chamber trade show, expo or seminar, either as an exhibitor or as a presenter.
  • Host or sponsor an event or a BAH door prize.
  • Submit a Chamber membership “Success Story” for the Brooklyn Chamber Web site, http://www.ibrooklyn.com/, and join the ranks of fellow Chamber Members already featured – Cortel Business Solutions, Embora Wellness & Movement Studio, robbie dawg, inc., City Joinery, R& W Facility Care Systems, InStep Consulting and many more.
  • Set up an EZWeb Member page at ibrooklyn.com and receive the benefits of over 5,000 visitor sessions a week.
  • Use the Member-to-Member Discount Program at ibrooklyn.com for business promotion and to find discounts on business services and products.
  • In June, the Brooklyn Chamber is expanding the Member-to-Member Discount Program with an offline component – the Member-to-Member bi-monthly mailing.  Brooklyn Chamber Members can purchase an insert to include their company's letter, brochure or flier in the Member-to-Member bi-monthly mailing (space permitting) to its Members and supporters with a circulation of 2,000 (June mailing submissions deadline is May 15).
  • To get a thorough overview of all the Brooklyn Chamber’s membership benefits and services, attend a New Member Orientation (NMO). Held every two months, get to meet Chamber staff, network with other Members and learn about the Chamber.

The Brooklyn Chamber held its second NMO for the year on April 5, at the Business Library, 280 Cadman Plaza West in Brooklyn Heights.  40 new Members attended with about 20 also joining the EZWeb training session that followed the morning’s presentation.  The next Member Orientation is scheduled for June.

To get connected to Brooklyn Chamber Member benefits contact Darryl Hollon, Director of Membership at 718-875-1000 ext. 131, or Tara Levin, Manager of Member Services at 718-875-1000 ext. 111, or visit the Brooklyn Chamber Web site, http://www.ibrooklyn.com/.
