Brooklyn's Progress April/May 2005
The 2nd annual Biodiversity Expo was held on March 5 and 6 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. "The show was a huge success," said Jason Dubrow, producer of the event. " It went so well, in fact, that the exhibitors want us to do it again in the fall."
The 2005 Biodiversity Expo enjoyed increased attendance nearly triple that of last year’s inaugural show. Mr. Dubrow is currently looking into dates at the Brooklyn Marriott for the fall as well as taking the show on the road in 2006.
Biodiversity Expo provides natural health and environmental businesses and organizations entrée into the Brooklyn market. The Expo affords Chamber Member businesses the opportunity to connect with other "like minded" individuals and organizations greatly committed to creating a healthier and more positive world.
Several sponsors and exhibitors returned this year including Chamber Members Health Plus, Courier-Life Publications, Waste Management, Con Edison and Timothy Curran of Health Matters, who joined the Chamber at the event along with Omar Imer of The Imer Group. There were several new exhibitors participating this year including Chamber Member Carolyn Meiselbach of Eagle Purification Systems and the Brooklyn Children’s Museum.
The Brooklyn Children’s Museum was a terrific new addition to the Expo’s list of exhibitors. Their display included interactive activities educating children and adults alike on the importance of protecting the environment. Another first this year was the film festival featuring four documentary films by noted health advocate Gary Null. This year’s lecture series was well attended with topics as diverse as integrative cardiology to natural anti-aging methods, providing information as well as business opportunities for the show’s attendees.
The Expo continues all year long through Biodiversity Magazine, which is distributed throughout the tri-state area and on the Web site at http://www.biodiversityllc.com/
In the upcoming months Mr. Dubrow will be launching a completely revamped Web site with more articles and links to natural health and environmental services and products.
