Brooklyn's Progress April/May 2007
BY DARRYL HOLLON
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce was designated an Industrial Business Solutions provider by the Mayor’s Office of Industrial and Manufacturing Businesses (IMB) in 2006. Darryl Hollon, director of industrial and manufacturing services at the Chamber, is responsible for the Flatlands-Fairfield IBZ (Industrial Business Zone). As part of his regular routine, Mr. Hollon makes visits to the field to educate manufacturers about money-saving programs and provide other business support services. For his site visits on Jan. 18, Mr. Hollon was accompanied by Chamber colleague Cheryl Gladstone, director, real estate & development, and Stuart Leffler, manager of economic development at Con Edison, a leading Chamber Member. Mr. Leffler provided information about available energy and property tax incentives while Ms. Gladstone gathered information about the businesses in the area and their real estate needs, as well as identified vacant buildings in the zone for the Chamber's space data bank. To learn more about industrial and manufacturing incentive programs contact Mr. Hollon at 718-875-1000 ext. 131, or at dhollon@brooklynchamber.com.
