Brooklyn's Progress April/May 2007
BY KHADIJA BATUTA
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce hosted another of its Member Orientation sessions at the Brooklyn Public Library Business Library, 280 Cadman Plaza West, Downtown, on Mar. 22. A cross-section of nearly 40 businesses – from staffing agencies to maintenance services to beauty salons to jewelry designers to an hotelier – networked with Chamber staffers and each other. Senior Financial Services Librarian Micki Trager summarized the Business Library’s many resources and services for attendees, including free business seminars and this year’s PowerUP! Business Plan Competition that is underway. After the morning’s presentation, several Members built their free Web pages at the EZWeb Workshop, where they also learned about the many resources available at the Chamber’s Web site, ibrooklyn.com. The next bimonthly event is scheduled for Thursday, May 17. We hope to welcome you there! |
