The Brooklyn Brewery Hosts April BAH back to Brooklyn's Progress Online

Brooklyn's Progress
May 2004

By Maggie Beaute-Lucien

On April 27, more than 150 Brooklyn Chamber Members and friends ventured to the infamous Brewers Row in Williamsburg, for the Chamber’s monthly Business After Hours (BAH). One of the most popular BAHs every year, The Brooklyn Brewery provided a wonderful atmosphere for fun, networking, great food and great beer.  Click here to view the photos.

As part of the festivities, Brooklyn Chamber historian Joe Stile entertained the audience with Brooklyn brewery trivia (Did you know the original breweries in Brooklyn were Schaefer, Rheingold, Schlitz, and Pabst-Blue Ribbon?). The evening was capped with the traditional door prize presentation.  Eric Ottaway, Manager, Brooklyn Brewery, presented Vincent Furlong, Energy Consultant, KeySpan, with a Brooklyn Brewery t-shirt.

About The Host

The Brooklyn Brewery is New York's first successful commercial brewery since Schaefer and Rheingold closed their doors in 1976. The Brooklyn Brewery is located in the historic neighborhood of Williamsburg, home to thousands of working artists and an exciting array of new art galleries, restaurants and pubs. Williamsburg is the largest creative community in New York, and perhaps the world. From its founding in 1987 by a former foreign correspondent and a former banker, The Brooklyn Brewery has been a leader in the introduction and marketing of good beer in metropolitan New York and a supporter of Brooklyn's new cultural renaissance.

The Brooklyn Brewery's 70,000-square-foot brewery/warehouse complex includes the Tasting Room, a 300-seat facility that hosts many community events and serves as a gallery for local artists, and The Brooklyn Brewery Company Store.
