  Brooklyn Designs 2004 Back to Brooklyn's Progress Online  
Chamber President Kenneth Adams greets the press and other invited guests at the press breakfast for Brooklyn Designs on April 30.  The breakfast was held at Bubby's Brooklyn, a family friendly restaurant in DUMBO.
Commissioner Rob Walsh (left), Jean Hamerman, both from the NYC Department of Small Business Services and Jed Walentas, Two Trees Management, during the show preview for Brooklyn Designs on April 30.  The 2004 show was held at two venues, St. Ann's Warehouse at 38 Water Street and Brooklyn Designs Gallery at 37 Main Street in DUMBO.

NYC Councilwoman Letitia James with studio furniture maker Michael Puryear.  Mr. Puryear says that he imbues his work with "shibui," the Japanese term for simple elegance which often involves curved elements and constrasting woods.
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz with Azy Schecter of Kea Karpets & Kilims.  All of Ms. Schecter's designs, which can be custom sized and colored, are made from 100 percent New Zealand wool that are hand tufted in the USA.
Christopher Coleman, Christopher Coleman Interior Design, introduced his new children's line of furniture during the show.  Mr. Coleman was one of the featured presenters at the Brooklyn Designs seminar series.  His topic was "Working with a Designer for the First Time."

Husband and wife team Marcia Zia and Paul Priven of Zia-Priven showed their newest lighting fashions.  Some of their designs are named after Hollywood stars, offering a touch of glamour.
A Brooklyn Designs attendee makes use of the Con Edison shuttle bus.  For the second year, Con Edison provided free shuttle bus service from Borough Hall to the Brooklyn Designs show venue in DUMBO.
