Brooklyn's Progress June 2004
By Maggie Beaute-Lucien
On May 25, more than 85 Brooklyn Chamber Members and friends headed to Red Hook, to sample Liberty Heights Tap beer and brick oven pizza at the Chamber's monthly Business After Hours (BAH).
Donald Laurie, Energy Curtailment Specialist, graciously donated two $25 gift certificates for the evening's door prize drawing. Guy Zoda, King Henry Entertainment was the winner. In addition, Chamber President Kenneth Adams donated a luncheon ticket and exhibit table for the Chamber's June 3 Brooklyn Business Trade Show & Luncheon featuring Mayor Bloomberg. James Rigney, goBrooklyn Realty, was the lucky winner.
About Our Host Liberty Heights Tap Room, a former Park Slope Brewing Co. opened its brewpub in a brownstone on Sixth Ave. in August 1994. Shortly thereafter, the brewery was offering pub patrons eight types of ale on tap. Today, the bar features rustic brick oven cuisine and live music located in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, a waterfront neighborhood in renaissance near Governors Island and the Statue of Liberty.
Many thanks to the evening's host Steve Deptula, Liberty Heights Tap Room Owner, and his staff for making the Brooklyn Chamber's May BAH a fabulous success. Don’t forget to join the Brooklyn Chamber at the June BAH in Park Slope at the Prospect Park YMCA on Thursday, June 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
