Daniel Maynard, 43, public information officer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, died May 19 after a brief illness.

Mr. Maynard joined the Port Authority in 1985.  He served on the public relations committee of the American Association of Port Authorities.

A native of Wilmington, Mass., he graduated from the University of Massachusetts and received a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk University.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Richard Rhorer; a sister, Barbara Stewart of Phoenix; a brother, Ken Maynard of Wilmington, Mass. and two nephews and three nieces.

A funeral mass was held on May 21 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Manhattan.
