The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the following staff appointments:
BROOKLYN HEALTHWORKS: Marie Daniel joined the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce on Mar. 24 as account representative for Brooklyn HealthWorks, the Chamber’s low-cost health insurance plan for the borough’s eligible small businesses. In addition to processing new enrollments, invoices, payments, and other duties, Marie provides direct assistance to HealthWorks clients and participates in outreach initiatives under the direction of Executive Director Dean Mohs. Licensed in health and accident insurance, Marie’s prior experience includes medical billing and insurance enrollment and claims processing for various medical and insurance companies, as well as nonprofit organizations. Currently pursuing a B.A. in Sociology at Brooklyn College, Marie is excited about serving small businesses in Brooklyn that “have long struggled with finding affordable health insurance for their employees.” Marie emigrated with her family to the U.S. from her native Haiti as a youth, and is currently residing in the Ditmas Park section of Brooklyn. BROOKLYN BUSINESS SOLUTIONS CENTER: As of Mar. 24, Juri “Judy” Sanchez is the intake coordinator for the Brooklyn Business Solutions Center, a walk-in center for business development – managed by the Chamber under Director Kelvin Collins – sponsored by the New York City Department of Small Business Services. A graduate of Queens College with an Associate degree in Office Administration, Juri manages incoming calls to the center and provides support to its staff.
