Brooklyn's Progress July 2001
Tony Lacitignola has joined the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce as vice president of Marketing. Though Lacitignola is well known to many Members for his active role in Chamber events with Brooklyn Bottling what they don’t know is that he has Brooklyn in his blood. Lacitignola was born and raised in Flatbush, attending Brooklyn Prep High School. He attended Fordham University, receiving both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. After graduation he taught English and Social Studies in New England before returning to New York where he spent the next 20 years working in marketing on high profile products and services. Lacitignola’s first job was with the advertising agency, Hicks and Greist, where he learned the foundation of brand building on such accounts as Riunite, Hamilton Beach and C.I.T. Financial. His career took him to Atlantic City as advertising director at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino. Lacitignola returned to New York and picked up his advertising career working on accounts as diverse as Radio City Music Hall, The New York Aquarium and Bronx Zoo, and National and Mistic Beverages. For the last five years Lacitignola held the position of vice president-Marketing for Brooklyn Bottling. During his tenure, the bottling company joined the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and made use of many of the programs, including Brooklyn Goes Global, Brooklyn’s Kitchen and the Chamber’s real estate resources. Lacitignola expects to bring a hands-on approach to working with Chamber Members in helping them to build their businesses as well as to making the general business community more aware of the Brooklyn Chamber. Lacitignola lives in Brooklyn Heights where he is active in his community. |
