Good Help to Pioneer New Workforce Development Technology back to Brooklyn's Progress Online

Brooklyn's Progress
July 2003

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce announced this month that it is adding an online automated job placement system to its Good Help program in partnership with Resume Video Inc., that will enable the Brooklyn Chamber to enhance its already successful efforts to help Brooklyn based businesses find, recruit and hire the best-qualified job candidates. Resume Video’s online system will bring the latest web-based technology to streamline the management and coordination of Good Help’s job matching and job placement activities.  The system will enable the Brooklyn Chamber to enroll employers, post job orders and present job candidates online using RV’s patent pending post card technology

“Incorporating this new technology will greatly enhance Good Help’s ability to disseminate information amongst a wide network of both employers and job placement agencies,” says Randolph Peers, the Brooklyn Chamber’s Executive Director for Workforce Development.   “In addition, the powerful data management capability will help the Good Help staff manage both employer and applicant relationships in a more effective way.  Resume Video far outperforms other similar types of systems on the market today, including government mandated systems like ACMS.”

Another exciting feature associated with this technology is its ability to create “digital” resumes.  Digital resumes will provide job applicants with the ability to film personalized presentations that can be sent directly to an employer, along with a paper resume, using standard email.  The Chamber is currently exploring a number of strategies to incorporate the digital resume feature into the Good Help program as part of its job screening and matching service.

The Brooklyn Chamber has also negotiated a sponsorship arrangement with Resume Video to provide the technology to smaller not-for-profit employment programs that currently cannot afford to implement such technology on their own.  Organizations that take advantage of the Brooklyn Chamber’s sponsorship program, those with 10 users or less, will be able to license Resume Video’s complete system with all of its state of the art job matching and job placement features at a greatly reduced price.  The Brooklyn Chamber will be hosting a free seminar to demonstrate Resume Video’s capabilities on August 6th, from 10a.m.-12p.m. at Polytechnic University.  For more information on Resume Video, contact Randolph Peers at 718-875-1000 x 122 or check out their URL at http://www.resumevideo.com/.
