Brooklyn's Progress
August 2003

by Adecco

Adecco (NYSE: ADO), the world’s largest staffing and human resource solutions company, has received an award from General Electric Medical Systems for “Outstanding Performance in Digitization Initiatives.”  This is the second consecutive year that GE Medical Systems has honored Adecco for its advances in staffing management systems.

Bob Lucas, COO of WorkCard, says, “The integration of the WorkCard ASP, the staffing industry’s most sophisticated, flexible Web-based staffing management system, into GEMSbuy, GE Medical Systems’ proprietary front-end procurement system, enables end-users to manage contingent labor vendors in a quick, efficient, and completely paperless environment. The process encompasses ordering, approval, fulfillment, time capture, billing, and reporting.”

Laura King, Vice President of Global Sourcing, presented the award to Cindy Gurekovich, Adecco’s National Account Manager for GE Medical Systems, and Tim Nau, Adecco Area Manager for Milwaukee, WI. King notes that, “Adecco’s integration of WorkCard into GEMSbuy, as well as the success of the product, have been exemplary. We use GEMSbuy for ordering everything from paperclips and computer equipment to contingent staff. WorkCard completely removes the tedious manual process out of managing the contingent workforce process, thus reducing our contingent workforce costs considerably. For that reason, Adecco’s digitization initiatives are the standard against which all other GE Medical Systems suppliers measure their success.”

Julio Arrieta, CEO of Adecco USA, says, “GE Medical Systems is one of Adecco’s largest clients, using temporary employees every day at 30 locations throughout the country. We’re very pleased to upgrade even further the service that Adecco provides to GE Medical Systems, and we’re especially honored to be recognized for our efforts.”
