CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS

Brooklyn Historical Society:  Jessie McClintock Kelly, Brooklyn Historical Society President,  left the nationally renowned urban history center on June 30 after 12 years in leadership roles to resume her postgraduate work in Chinese history and U.S.-China relations.  Sarah E. Kelly will serve as Interim Director until a new Executive Director is be named.
 
EDUCATION/TRAINING

Brooklyn College:  William Fletcher Jr. was named the Belle Zeller Visiting Professor in Public Policy and Administration for the 2005-2006 academic year.  Mr. Fletcher is president and CEO of TransAfrica Forum and a long-time labor and international activist.  Visit the Brooklyn College Web site at http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/.

New York City College of Technology (City Tech):   Dr. Miguel F. Cairol was named Vice President for Administration and Finance.  He was formerly Acting Dean for Planning and Special Assistance to the President.  Dr. Marcela Katz Armoza was named Acting Vice President of enrollment and Student Affairs.  She was formerly Dean of Enrollment Management and Director of the Search for Elevation and Education through Knowledge program.

Polytechnic University:  Jerry MacArthur Hultin, a former Under Secretary of the Navy (1997 to 2000), has been named the 10th president of Polytechnic University. He was formerly Under Secretary of the Navy, Dean of the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management and a professor of management at Stevens Institute of Technology.  Mr. Hultin replaces Dr. David C. Chang, who stepped down as President on June 30, after serving the University for 11 years.
