Philip A. Wolf, noted civil engineer and senior vice president of commercial construction and development at Muss Development Company, passed away Jun. 20 at the age of 81.

Mr. Wolf joined Muss Development in 1985 and held a variety of positions within the New York City-based real estate development company, including project supervision and management, estimating and purchasing, contract and claims negotiations and condominium conversions.

Instrumental in the planning and construction of many highly regarded projects in New York City, Mr. Wolf's long list of accomplishments include a major alteration to the Brooklyn Bridge and the construction of The Grand Hyatt in Manhattan.  His latest achievement is Brooklyn Renaissance Plaza and The New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge.

"Having a full-service world-class hotel literally only an elevator ride away will obviously prove a huge advantage to office tenants at Renaissance Plaza," Mr. Wolf had commented about the project.

Corporate tenants at Renaissance Plaza, located downtown at Adams and Jay streets, have available to them a host of services and amenities, including catering, various restaurants and bars, conference and meeting facilities, a state-of-the-art health and fitness center, retail shops, a children's daycare center and underground parking for 1,100 cars.  Mr. Wolf believed the development would serve the many students living in the downtown area, as well.

"He was a brilliant engineer, attorney and businessman, but he will be most remembered for his wisdom, humor and kindness," said Joshua Muss, principal, Muss Development.

Mr. Wolf is survived by his wife Thelma, daughters Roberta and Ann, son Edward and three grandchildren Leah, Sarah and Zena.

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce staff, board and Members extend deepest condolences to Mr. Wolf's family, friends and colleagues.
