Fresh Air Fund registration opens: Give your child a memorable summer experience. Looking for something fun for your child to do this summer? Give him or her the chance to meet new people and experience the country at one of five Fresh Air camps or with a volunteer host family. Register your child for The Fresh Air Fund and provide memories that will last a lifetime. Community agencies throughout all five boroughs are registering boys and girls, 6 to 12 years old, for free vacations in the country and small-town communities. The Fresh Air Fund gives inner-city youngsters a break from crowded streets and hot playgrounds and a chance to experience the tranquility of country life. On a Fresh Air Fund vacation, a child will see a world outside New York City, full of meadows, streams and lakes. Children often make friends that last forever.
