Brooklyn Goes Global (BGG), the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s program to assist small and medium-sized Brooklyn-based food manufacturers, is giving the ethnic food circuit a taste of Brooklyn. BGG simultaneously participated in Kosherfest 2006 and Expo Comida Latina at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Nov. 14 - 15.
Four Brooklyn food manufacturers were featured at Kosherfest under the Brooklyn Goes Global banner: 4C Foods Corp., King of the Sea, Grampa’s Wake Up Mints, and China Mehadrin; while two companies, Jakada Juice and Coco Gigante, exhibited at Expo Comida Latina.
“We’re thrilled to be exhibiting in two of the largest and best known food service trade shows on this side of the country, this expansion of our participation is exciting,” said Steve Kaplansky, Director, Brooklyn Goes Global. “Established companies like 4C and King of the Sea are with us this year as well as new and exciting companies Jakada Juice and China Mehadrin.”
Kosherfest, featuring more than 500 booths including an estimated 350 exhibitors and hundreds of new products, took place in conjunction with Expo Comida Latina. The latter is the largest business event for the Hispanic food and beverage market. BGG has taken the myriad tastes of Brooklyn to Kosherfest in Manhattan for the last five years.
