Press Release March 26, 2004
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the fourth annual Building Brooklyn Awards. The Building Brooklyn Awards honor new construction and renovation projects that have improved Brooklyn’s economy and quality of life.
“The Building Brooklyn Awards enable the Brooklyn Chamber to shine a spotlight on a diverse and exciting selection of projects that represent the incredible amount of new investment in our borough,” explained Kenneth Adams, President of the Brooklyn Chamber.
In 2003, 11 construction projects from around the borough were recognized. This year the selection promises to be bigger and better, with the inclusion of three new categories. The Brooklyn Chamber is accepting nominations in 14 categories, including: education, public works, community facility, arts & cultural, industrial, office building, retail interior, retail storefront, and residential. Eligible projects should have been completed on or prior to December 31, 2003. Projects that were nominated last year and did not win an award may be re-submitted for consideration.

A panel of architects, city planners, economic development experts and business leaders will choose award recipients. The Building Brooklyn Awards ceremony and cocktail reception will be held in June.
