  Dinner Dance Gala 2007

Chamber Celebrates 90 Years in Style

Annual gala celebrates past, looks to future

BY JILL D’AMICO

There was magic in the air on Dec. 13, 2007, as Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Members, distinguished guests and friends came together at the El Caribe Country Club in Mill Basin for the Brooklyn Chamber’s 90th Annual Dinner Dance Gala.

They were all there to honor Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, whose tireless leadership has helped propel Brooklyn to the forefront of economic development. The evening also allowed the Brooklyn Chamber to recognize past board chairs – Robert B. Catell, Patrick J. Fallon, Alan H. Fishman, David J. Manning, Craig G. Matthews, and Philip F. Stenger – without whom the Chamber could not have thrived.

Guests were treated to a dazzling cocktail buffet, a delectable dinner, a show-stopping band and packed dance floor.

The dinner dance would not have been possible without the help of event underwriters GHI, HIP and Maimonides Medical Center; event supporters Con Edison, Continuum Health Partners, Fidelis Care, Pfizer Inc., Preferred Health Partners, SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Verizon Communications; and event friends Commerce Bank, Consolidated Bus Transit, Kings Plaza Shopping Center, Muss Development LLC, and Sovereign Bank.
